Need to cool down my room

Thread Starter
Its summer time now and I have had it with these room temps. I know that having a computer like mine in my room will always make the room warm, but there has to be something I can do to keep it a little cooler. When you walk in my room you can immediately notice a difference in temperature around 10-20 degrees in summer. I have a ceiling fan and a portable fan, but I still cant keep my room as cool as the rest of the house, which is actually liveable.

I have absolutely no knowledge of cooling, aside from knowing when things get too hot. Is there anything I can do to get the room temperature down even a couple degrees, maybe another heatsink for my CPU other than the stock, more fans, or convert my room into a freezer...

Improving the heat dissipation from your computer isnt going to help your room temperature. Although the computer may be cooler, it's just because it's moving that heat into your room.

The only way to reduce the temperature in your room through your computer would be to undervolt the CPU so that it's not producing as much heat.

If you've got money to spend you could look at an Air Conditioning unit, otherwise I just recommend sitting in your boxers with a massive desk fan pointed at you

Adapt to the heat. Then when really hot days come, after sitting in your molten room it will feel nice and cool.

Yes... as Killhouse said, getting a better cooler for your computer (or even water cooling) would not do anything to the temperature of your room since the same amount of heat is being dissipated into the the air, just more effectively.

Other than air con, there's not really anything you can do.

This wont help, as we all just said.

A WC loop will just more efficiently move the heat from the computer to the air in the room, it's not going to cool his room down

Based on your sig rig, with an AC running it shouldn't be 20 degrees hotter in your room. I'd suggest getting a better air conditioner, or, insulating your walls.
