GTX470 Overclocking

Thread Starter
I've been overclocking my EVGA GTX470 and it is pretty much stuck here.

I was wondering if this is good or if something is limiting my overclock such as my motherboard(the crappiest motherboard in history). My temps max out at 92C so thats fine.

not all the cards are the same, some are good overclockers some not, you have a nice overclock there. Create a new fan profile in AB and dont use the stock one and you can se better temps.

Same here man. It's luck of the draw.

800/1600/1900 is the max OC I can get for 24/7 at max voltage. Even at 810, I start to see artifacts.

Your OC is more than enough anyways..be happy with it man!

More like a circle of fail. I want 850MHz!!!

PS if you put it on water, you get 25-50MHz headroom for some reason

800MHz is still good... I got mine up to 815/1630/1900, but I doubt that you would notice a difference in performance between the two.

800 stable is pretty good. (i would test it for more than 1 min though) unless that's really an hour

I can run that at 1.087 but run it at 740 1.0v (stock mem) so i can turn the fan down.

With 100% fan, i can get a vantage run to finish at 835-840MHz/1900MHz but any higher and it locks up in "new calico" (not stable at all). i might look into a modded bios for more volts but i'm pretty happy with it.

Did you try "Real World"?

My card would OC stable (with kombustor running and all that) to amazing clocks... And i could play most console ports... But when i tried Crysis Warhead and it's 1200 MB memory usage and ~90% GPU usage combo.. It just slapped my OC in the face. (Artifacts, Freezing, ETC)

SO my card is pretty much standing right around your clocks with 100% stability.
