Any i7 users switch to X6? - Page 3

I do not think there would be much of an upgrade.

There is a user here that went from an i7 920 to a 1055t. He said is very happy he made the switch, but then there are few saying they are unhappy.

Fanboy nitwitery aside the chips are clock for clock the same in everything I use them for, (folding, porno, gaming etc) don't care about benchmarks that much. That makes me ask the question, why the hell would anyone go from a i7 to a x6? You lose the damn 1366 board which is almost as big a draw as the i7 itself.

this man speaks the truth. but i never buy brand new hardware designs. not since the Pentium FDIV bug.
my plan is always skip a socket and buy the best near the end of the next sockets life cycle.

I switched from i5 to x6. I'm very happy just because i will be able to use this socket for the next gen AMD cpus. Although i'm kind of bummed that the i7-875K just came out.

Go x6 if you want to try sexy new hardware or if your keen to upgrade straight into bulldozer.

Keep i7 if you plan to sli 2x gtx 480's or can't afford it or because it's a sidegrade.
