Thread Starter
Wow screw them, they want a 15% restocking fee. That's 50$. On top of paying shipping both ways, and then switching to the EVGA, that's 120$!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! For a stupid screw!!!!!!!!!!

Plus I just tried to buy the GTX480 on sale @ 360$ but it's US-only!!!!!!!!!AAAAAARGHHHHHHHHHHH

I would take a trip to the hardware/tool store and see what they have, allen heads, torx bits maybe something you dont even know about.

You could also try JB welding a small screwdriver into the head of the screw then twisting it out after the jb weld has cured, just be sure not to get any on the card itself.

Oh I see. He can't get it out? I thought he took them out and could not get the last screw in. Well is it like half way?

Just try to cut the head so you can use a flat screw driver. Also if it's out a little, some small pliers might be able to turn it too.

Returning the card will not work because it would be considered physical damage and you will get it back as it is or pay some restocking fee and pay to get it fixed lol.

PICS ARE UP

It couldn't zoom in more......grr I need a new lens.

Dude from those pics it looks like the screw is all the way in. If that's the case. Put all the screws back and don't mess with the card.

I thought your screw was out or half way in or something like that.

is there anyway the heatsink will budge? this happened to me before and i got it to come out a little bit by budging it back and forth then i used pliers

btw if you break the top of the screw can't you just pull of the heatsink?

if anything you can try to destroy the heatsink on top...

I feel really bad for you >.< last time I had a stripped screw I ended up breaking the plastic part to open a case

BEST OF LUCK!

edit: trying looking for a screw extractor at a local hardware store!

Solder a dime or some other small item to it, that will then let you grab it with pliers... I think its worth a try. Just be careful with the solder. cover all surrounding areas with masking tape.
