Is the EVGA E760 Classified THAT much better than the E758 - Page 2

Good choice!!! The RiiiE is an amazing motherboard! It's right up there with the classy in terms of performance as well. As far as the GTX 480 goes, there really are no heat problems. My card never goes above 81 degrees in this hot weather. In winter time it wouldn't go past 78. Just use MSI Afterburner and set up your own auto fan profile and your good to go.

Same I never had any so called heat problems. Even the day before yesterday and the ambient air was hot, my card was doing fine while playing BF:BC2. If you got the money and you don't want to go with the GTX 480, I would think about 2 or even 3 GTX 470's. Those bad boys can scale. I'm planing on buying a Galaxy GTX 480 + GT 240 when it comes out, and go back to SLI.

the heat problems are on new egg's reviews. People complaining that they burn out after a while. I am looking at the evga version, but for the right price on it (gotta wait for next pay day now) I would go with a different company

That's NewEgg half of those people who leave comments don't even have the product they're commenting about. The heating problem was blown out proportion. 1st a lot of the people were not used to their card temperatures being that high. So not knowing it was made to be that high, they complained. Others got the a card that crapped out, and they blamed it on the temperature, not knowing if that was the reason for their card crapping out or not. Unless the manufacture did seat the heatsink right, I'm doubtful of the heating problem. Its really easy to say it was one thing or another is wrong to get NewEgg send you a new one instead of dealing with manufacture. I've seen people buy something that was not compatible with their PC and blame it on NewEgg and or the manufacture. I would like to think of my self as an advanced PC user, I don't listen to what people has to say on NewEgg...

I agree with Pings, 99% of newegg reviewers think their Tech Level is "high" because they know what a hard drive is. To make matters worse, "too hot" is an opinion and not quantifiable. While one dude might be fine with 80C, the next guy could be complaining about 70C.

If you want to know more about a certain product, google it. Read professional review site's articles and comb through a reputable forum's thread(s). Hit up the manufacturer's website for the technical documents. But DO NOT take newegg reviews as gospel.

I kinda figured that. I've been a geek squad agent for about 5 years now (I am the guy in the back fixing things, not the idiot at the front counter giving us a bad name) and know how this is, just saw enough of them to kinda swing me. So with the money I've saved, i will def go with a 480 now! I am so damn excited! That and it seems that the retail edge big deal is going to be giving away 980x's for around $300 :-X
