MSI Hawk 5770 OC Problem

Thread Starter
Hey guys,

i got my 5770 a couple days ago and ive finally gotten around to overclocking it.

However, ive seem to stumbled upon a small problem.

I'm using MSI afterburner as my overclocking software and Kombustor as a stress tester.

The problem is that Kombustor isn't registering the overclock. I currently have the core clock set to 900 and yet kombustor reads it as 400.

It also reads the memory clock as 900 when its at 1200.

Is this a BIOS problem or something?

As long as afterburner shows the overclock where it's suppose to be you're fine. You can DL heaven benchmark or vantage to see if your score is similar to other 5770's that are overclocked.

400/900 sounds like the idle clocks.

It might be a problem with Kombustor or with the driver. Afterburner OCs 3D clocks, while what you're stressing is apparently the 2D clocks. Try using Furmark or ATI Tool to stress the OCed card, I know for sure they activate 3D clocks.
