What to do? - Page 2

I plan on going SLI or CrossFire in the future, if the 5970 is worth it and is the best, I can cut down on something else to get it. I have no clue on which case to get or motherboard. I've been on CyberPowerPC and configuring systems using the Intel based model. What would you guys suggest would be the best deal using that?

Also a blueray player? Hmm OP do you need this?

Also what do you have already that you might be able to use?
Keyboard, mouse, monitor, operating system?

is NCIX available for you? they have good price and can build the computer for you ( except not installing the card for shiping ) .

And I kinda let me go on the wish list really fast to show how AMD can be cheap to buy it's not a really rock solid list

Edit - Wow you guys are awesome, this is the first forum I've been on with people replying so swiftly trying to help me. I'm lost for words, thank you guys!

To answer some more questions, I will need a monitor, but not to worried about a mouse or keyboard yet. Don't need speakers, but I would need to get Windows 7 >.<

windows 7 isn't a problem when building a system

and if your going intel I made this .

I'm sure it can be optimized for your budget but a computer like this build by a store will cost you around 2700$ I'm pretty sure .

Newegg prices.

i7 920/930 - $280 (micocenter <$200)
Gtx 480 or 5870 - $500 range
Evga e758 - $239 (After mail in rebate)
Intel SSD 40gb - $117
Spinpoint F3 1tb - $70
Corsair 1000hx PSU - $210 (After mail in rebate)

Do you have a preference in monitor brand?

Have you checked out some heatsinks at all? There is many and you might like certain one depending on size & style. You really should pick something so we can work with it. There all in your budget if its air. <$100.

Any cases that you've seen that caught your eye you might like? So we can find it or find something in your price range that would work? I personally liked the haf932 others have different taste.

Not sure about buying prebuilt, your better off building yourself its not hard though and we will help.
I didnt build you a newegg list due to the fact, your still iffy about making it yourself. And you really need to look at alot of other things before jumping the gun.

ok i finely finished coming up with a good build imo. you can change things or buy other places with better deals. im going to put this out there now and say i would rather you go to a store in your area and look at the monitors and find one that you like so if there was any problem with it you don't have to mail it off.

a link to the list: (may need to log in first)
