Help Photoshopping An Image?

Thread Starter

just started using Photoshop, and I'm having trouble editing out a background and turning it transparent. I'd like to remove everything except for the lion, and then turn the background area I just deleted transparent. Thanks for the help

What you need to do is select what you need to delete. (possibly) the easiest way to do this is to use the magic wand tool. Then press delete.

Personally, I'd just create a mask around the area you want to keep but you can use whatever method you want, then inverse the selection and delete it. Be sure to save your file as *.png so when you use the image, there will be no background.

Hope this helps a little.

Zoom in and erase around the lion enough to where you can just zoom all the way out and eraser out the rest with a bigger brush. Then magic wand around the lion, and invert selection.

But I guess there are a lot of different ways to do it, none of which are wrong, just preference.
