Sorry if you found anything I said to be harsh/snyde, I retract it. I just meant to say that it's sort of wrong to criticize the OP's preference of not getting a data plan to save a good deal of money rather than spend it on a feature he does not see himself really making good use of. I especially found it odd that an Editor here would have that kind of insight on this thread... but I do understand what you mean. I like my data plan on my Android, and wouldn't get rid of it unless I was in a bad financial situation. In that case, I'd temporarily drop it, and I'm assuming that's why the OP doesn't want a data plan. He's not necessarily being 'cheap,' he possibly could and likely would pay for it if he really wanted it.

Sounds like a defect, I had a G1 that did something similar to that. The screen backlight would turn off when I slid the keyboard out. Don't see why the touch response would go off though.Edited by Stealth Pyros - 6/8/10 at 10:28pm
