PNY Vs EVGA

Out of these 2 manufacturers which has the better warranty. I once heard pnys lifetime is only the time that the card is being made.

I've had the best luck with EVGA warranties. I've had a few problems with PNY customer services. I pretty much go EVGA all the way.

Hope that helps a little but it's just my personal opinion.

Just makre sure you buy the EVGA models that offer a lifetime warranty. A few of their 4xx cards have only a 3 year warranty.

He makes a really good point that I don't often think of. I usually upgrade my stuff so often that I never was really concerned with the extra years of warranties. There needs to be more mfgs that have XfX styled warranties offering double lifetime warranties.

The last PNY card i has was crap it wouldn't clock stay cool it was just bad.

Any 470/480 you buy now will be reference cooled anyway, so only the box, stickers and warranty will differ. The first non-reference coolers are only just being announced.
And my PNY 8500 GT was still going fine when I pulled it to swap for my BFG 8800GTS

PNY is fine in regards to them honoring the warranty. They always respond immediately and don't give you a hassle when sending something in. EVGA is great as well. In terms of build quality, all of these cards are exactly the same. They have the same parts, same exact cooler. The only ones that differ now are the newer ones that are starting to pop up that don't have reference designs. None of which I like anyway. When I want to get another 480 for sli, I'll be looking for a reference one.

Make sure you keep the receipt. I just got denied for warranty on a 1 month old EVGA card due to no receipt.
