Replacing speaker sub with a new custom made one

post #1 of 7

I plan to use that to power my sub and my speakers.

My issue right now is, how will this work?

Signal: Sound card-> amp-> powers speakers and sub woofer

I tried a home audio sub and all I got was bass and nothing from my speakers.

I am wondering if this amp can make it so I DON'T need a receiver.

Also will a receiver make it sound better then just using the amp?

Thanks!

No. That amp is exactly the same as any other home powered subwoofer. You will need a receiver and NON powered speakers to make it work right. Or a splitter, and use your computer as a volume control.

EDIT:
Sound card -> Y Splitter -> Subwoofer (and amp)
.......................................|-> Powered Speakers

Using your windows volume control as the volume control for everything.

Then I guess I will have to find a receiver and use that. I do have a optical in and a optical out on my sound card, is that what I should use to connect my sound card to the receiver?

Dont use car subs inhome. Takes too much work to get them flat. With exceptions because of some good brands. Fi etc.

Hsu. Between those 2.
