And not all boards can unlock cores, as well as it has to have those chipsets pioneerisloud said, if the board hasn't in the BIOS options ACC for AMD chipsets or NCC for nVidia chipsets, they can't unlock cores neither...
Don't you read???????????? That's exactly what he just said

Sorry about that. I didn't realize that English wasn't your primary language. I shall edit my post now to show my apologies. It's just that you quoted me, and told me to read what I wrote, which was kind of funny.

Again, I apologize .

So I want to build an HTPC and I have been looking at boards, and noted here in this thread that the chipsets that support unlocking are southbridge chipsets, is this correct? If I wanted to buy a sempron 140 and unlock it I would need to be sure that my SB is of the correct archetype, not the northbridge? Only curious because I was reading about FSB OC'ing and it was referring to the northbridge, was wanting to check on the difference, would the northbridge make a difference in choice of boards as well? Also, the FSB, is 1000MHZ/2000MTS capable of a good amount of OC'ing or would it be a bottle neck? Again as noted in this tutorial, a large disparity between fsb and chips fsb? become a proble as well? Am I confusing the terms for different ones?
