Are PC games dying out? - Page 3

I think PC gaming is already more of a niche for the hardcore gamer and enthusiast. Most casual computer users and gamers would rather just play on a console, but for people like us, nothing beats a PC!!! I kinda like being viewed as a counter-culture, cyber-punk, hardcore-enthusiast... it's cool! I also watch anime, which is its own little niche in the USA, and it's cool. I hope pc games don't die out, because pc games are freakin awesome! It's the only way to play!

...ps. Mickey Mouse: Castle of Illusion, is the best game evar!!!!! I play on an emulator, but used to play on Genesis as a kid.

We haven't made it to 2012 yet.

Consoles are for kiddies, and PC graphics are far superior than compressed console graphics. Besides, mouse and keyboard gives more precise headshots.

TBH, the main reason I'm a PC gamer is because of the keyboard and mouse. I just can't play my favorite genre (FPS) with a controller. But if the next generation of consoles allowed them then I would most definitely switch over. Main reason being that almost all my friends play on consoles and it would just be more fun and convenient to be able play with them.

To me, overmilking means the franchise has run its course, and there's no way to make a quality game after its predecessors. Bad Company 2 is either the best of the franchise or a close second to pretty much anyone that likes that genre of game. I'm definitely happy they made the game, and it wouldn't be hard for me to find many thousands who feel the same way.

Need for Speed is just a victim of poor production quality. Car games are not going to stop being made. Good ones will keep coming out forever. They could rebreath life into the franchise if they put the same effort into each one as any other top game. As for what they're pumping out now though, I'd have to agree that they're just using it to make a quick buck instead of making great games.

There has only been two games, Bad Company 1 and 2. Bad Company 2 was the only one on PC, so you can't overmilk the first title to come to PC

PC gaming is dying!? Damnit, and here I thought I had lots of good games to play

The ports are frustrating, but please realize that with a bad port, at the VERY WORST, you can plug in a 360 controller, and play it just the same as the console players had to.

But guess what, even if nothing else can be improved on... you can still do better than 1280x720 @30FPS

Since he said overmilking, I'm pretty sure he was talking about the Battlefield series, which is over 8 games strong now including expansions. So that's what I was referring to as well.

Well, BF2, 1942 etc... are all different types of games. Bad Company 2 was a successor to Bad Company 1, not Battlefield 2. Therefore, comparisons between the two are somewhat useless.
