I heard Blizzard was doing pretty badly being a PC only company and all.... (well, mostly).

Companies seem to be trying to kill it by releasing games on consoles only - pretty stupid move though because I'm not buying a console just to play a game. I'd rather they didn't get my money at all if they're going to do that.

pc gaming isnt dying, pc games are.

BEGIN RANT

i just finished modern warfare 2 tonight, about half way through the game i had an unusual urge to ask for a refund. i go though hell and back to give some guy a data box, dying like 8 times because of the whole ololol, we be npc and we have laser ninja wallhax just to end up being shot by the guy i give the box to.... why couldn't the chapter just end when the ninja shot me the first time.

but the sad part of the matter is that the multi player parts of games nowadays are becoming devoid of all originality. and to put it quite bluntly, are fairly terrible.
battlefield bad company 2 had a great singleplayer campaign, but the multiplayer is horrifically bad on the xbox and just bad on the pc. mw2 on the other hand was just a steaming pile of slag and burnt toast.

drm is also something that is slowly killing the industry one miffed gamer at a time. AC2 looks like an alright game, but what keeps me away is the drm. i will never buy a game unless its some holy piece of software that cures aids and blesses nuns that packs a [UBISOFT]PERMANENT CONNECTION REQUIRED![/UBISOFT] and doesnt supply any other benefits and cool things.

i realize steam is a form of drm, but its one i can live with. it has a friend system, an alright community, and a bunch of other stuff that is pretty useful such as automatic game updates etc...

all and all, im one to believe that one good game developer market crash(not the awe damn, a few companies went down. i mean the wholesale destruction of most of the large cash cow marketing hulks and most of the shoddy small companies to) would do us a world of good and return us to the realm of pc gaming i grew up in. one in which the companies just made good games that made you want them, not drive your last functioning nerve off a cliff with drm and bullcrap.

END RANT.

NO.

I have all 3 consoles and a Gaming PC. Console graphics aren't nearly as good, and have lots of jaggies. I notice the difference immediately.

PC has much better textures, better lighting, higher FPS, better shadows, and of course higher AA.

Take MW2 for example ON PC it looks great, but on PS3 it looks like a 480P game with heavy jaggies, and muddy textures.

you cant believe everything 'someone' tells, you especially when how enthusist based pc gaming is, people buy consoles because they think pc's are too expensive and complicated

Different type? They are all exactly the same type.. set in different eras. That's what he was referring to, and that's what I was commenting on.

One of these threads is posted at least once a month. The answer is no, PC games are not dying out. The only really crappy thing is that a lot of games these days are ports over from the console. But even with that, the same game looks leaps and bounds better on the PC than it ever will on the console.
