Free CPU possiblitys?

Just got a email through the Freecycle network offering some cpu's

AMD 800Mhz /P2 300Mhz,400Mhz/Celeron 400Mhz/P3 500,600,700,800Mhz &
1.1Ghz

AMD-K6 350Mhz x 2 ,400Mhz,500Mhz Socket 7

AMD Duron 650Mhz,700Mhz,800Mhz Socket 462

AMD Athlon 850MHz,950Mhz Socket 462

Intel Celeron 500Mhz,800Mhz Socket 370

Pentium 3 800Mhz

VIA C3 750Mhz Socket 370

For just a small side machine which will fold 24/7 with no overclocking, which would be the best oneto choose if any?? I have accsess to a few mobos (through the same network) though I don't know what socket sets the mobos are however.

I don't think these are viable even for unicore.

Fair enough. I didn't hold out to much hope.

I don't think you'll get much, if anything, out of those chips. My 2nd oldest machine barely can do 1% in an hour or two and it has a better cpu than those listed.

AMD Athlon 850MHz,950Mhz Socket 462
Pentium 3 800Mhz

Those are the best two, but like everyone said I would guess you would get between 100ppd and 250ppd max. I am fairly certain there were not pci-e x16 slots on any boards from that generation, so I would think unless you have enough money to just throw it away I wouldn't do it.

I have decided to not bother with these, though it wouldn't of cost me anything as in the UK we have a thing called freecycle which is a gifting network where people give away unwanted items for nothing and theres this load of CPU's and also someone else giving away atx cases and mobo's.

Care to link me to the cases? Need one for a HTPC.

I can't seem to find it on the sitel, perhaps I'm just being dense.
