Desk Build

Thread Starter
Okay so I've been in the process of working on my new computer desk over the past weeks. At first I started as I usually do with a hand sketched design for my soon to be desk.

I didn't take pictures of when I bought the wood just after I had cut it out but here is the desk cut out.

Before Sanding the edges ended up doing a complete sand of the sides with a curved top bottom.

Then after talking to my dad I ended up deciding against the x style speaker holders and rather ended up cutting out a dual screen stand with square terminations at end where I could put the speakers.

All going well up to that point, I had the legs cut out of pvc tubing and some tube fittings.

After a trip to home depot I ended up buying some paint for the legs and desk itself.

Using the black for the legs and the other color for the desk itself, and here are some pictures of the painted desk up to now.

I still have some more layers of paint to do for the desk and paint the legs in addition to cutting out some more pvc to lift the monitor stand from the desk itself.

It has a certain 'I belong in a burger king circa 1992" feel. I approve.

I really like the dual monitor stand. Are you going to put your rig on the desk to the left of your chair?

great work.
I'm diggin the dual platform.
Just be careful with beverages on the surface. If that MDF isn't perfectly sealed it will balloon up from the moisture.

I didn't know they had PVC mounts like that. I might have to use your idea in the future.

Wow that looks real nice :O, I like how it allows for putting the speakers around you. Mind if I ask you what you used to border the wood cause I kinda need something to put on mine since the side of the wood is kind of rough.
