By the end of the next 1.5 years, I don't see games becoming dependent on hexa-core CPUs. Remember, Intel has one six-core CPU --it costs a grand. AMD has two. The rest are two, three, and four-core processors.

Few games will be engineered to use more than four cores during that time, so 200MHz more of speed (that is, a 3.4GHz quad-core vs. a 3.2GHz hex-core) will show more difference. It's also likely that your four-core Black Edition AMD CPU will overclock better than the six-core.

In 1.5 years, there will be a neat, new AM3 CPU that will cost less and do more. It's worth saving the $114 you'd save now to go towards that.
