What else would we discuss on a topic about a Google Easter Egg that showed Goooooooooooooal instead of Goooooooooooogle when you search for a certain thing? Not a lot to discuss, so it will tend to gravitate toward something we can bicker about! It is in OCN's nature

Crushing my dreams before the match even begins. There is a slight chance the USA wins. Some simulations gave the USA a 21.6% chance of winning the group. Then again England is over 60%. My friends will appreciate the game more since they all played soccer on varsity in HS. I only played through 6th grade. I only find it interesting when I have a team to cheer for like the World Cup. Then again most sports are boring if you don't care who wins.

Edit: For those unaware the 21.6% chance should be higher than the chances that the USA beats England. The USA's best chance to win the division is likely a draw with England then outscoring them against the others.

oh come on, "the real sport" ***? not even gonna talk about the immature arguments going on here. Just gonna put it out there that whoever talks crap about soccer/football has a very high chance of being confronted since its the most popular on the world.

Anyways although im rooting for brazil (which is where im from) i know this is not their year (although good team now). 2014 is definitly our world cup. This year it will be an african country to win, mark my words. If not then its either Spain or Holland.

I just bought a projector and when out of work I will be watching games on it, and during work im planning on buying a moblie tv to watch and return after cup has ended

"Oh noes, we gotta call it soccer because the americans get offended". It was called football since it was invented but hey you lot call it soccer and the rest of the world will call it football.
Dude, you gotta check the location of the person you're responding to. (He's not American.)

As for fanning the flames of the "nuh-uh, my favoritest sport is teh bestest" argument... when rugby players start carrying sticks and strapping knives to their feet, I'll give 'em their due. In the meantime, hockey wins.

I'll go watch F1 in peace. Now there's a man's sport. Screw up and you get thrown through the Pearly Gates. On Fire.

They're jocks. The only thing they know is how to beat up on one another. This, of course, makes them naturally talented for contact sports where it seems half the game is to pummel your opponent. A little training on how to not get caught by the refs, tell 'em which end of the field the ball goes on and they're golden.

Perhaps my opinion is a bit jaded, though. Maybe they're not quite as immature and bullish overseas as they are here. The local-to-me football team has a huge problem with it's players committing felonies. Most famous example of all, I think, is Pacman Jones' troubles with Metro PD. But they all have issues from time to time, mostly related to hard drugs, fast women and expensive cars. So I may be unfairly labelling ALL contact sport players as bullies.

but it's got to be said that I've never heard of any of them going on to do good for the world post-sports career.......
What about the educated ones who are not bullies and thieves?

Futbol players:

Football players:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_...rican_football)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pat_Tillman

Consider yourself served for being ignorant, and for harboring a childish grudge against some jock in high school.

90% of pro "contact sport" players are good guys, with educations, families, and goals outside of beating people up.
