Regarding WC for first timers

Thread Starter
Hey there..
So i started building a custom case in acrylic, and well, once i get to work ill build my own wc loop, to cool the cpu in a first stage and then, gpu and hdd's..
So i would like to ask you pro people in watercooling, which brands should i pick and what parts do i need and so on..(need atleast 2 brands or so, so i can choose incase one isnt available..), any tips in how to build it, etc.. are welcome..

note: i've checked the H50, but after thinking for a while, it doesnt beat the high end coolers, for about the same price it is now..so yea..going for a custom loop..

It's all mix and match. You pretty much have to read through all these threads and see 1) what everyone is using or 2) what is proven to be the best. #2 can be found in the block/rad comparison threads we have here on OCN.

Waterblocks and Reservoirs: Go with EK or Watercool (Heatkiller)

Radiators: Go with Thermochill/XSPC (XSPC now owns Thermochill) or HW Labs (Black Ice)

Pumps: Go with Laing (or the rebadged variant that Swiftech markets D5 = MCP655, DDC3.25 = MCP355)

Fittings: Go with Bitspower

Tubing: Tygon or Masterkleer

There's several other reputable brands out there, but what I have listed above is pretty much top-of-the-line stuff

I'd agree with CrimsonMango...

CPU Blocks: EK and Watercool (for the Heatkiller 3) - Swiftech's Apogee XT is good but restrictive on the flow.
GPU Blocks: EK without a doubt.
Radiators: XSPC/Thermochill or Feser or Black Ice.
Pump: Has to be the MCP655 or MCP355
Fittings: Bitspower or Feser
Tubing: Tygon is the best but Feser do some good tubing too
Res: Dealer's choice here, but EK ones are pretty good.
Coolant: Distilled water with PT Nuke/Kill coil - Avoid dyes.

I've gone with Feser compressions, Feser tubing, XSPC radiators, EK blocks (for cpu and gpu), EK res, 655 pump.

Well you won't go wrong with the WC parts suggested here.

I should have a look at your thread and might shoot you a pm. I might try and build my own case soon just for the hell of it
