Splitting & positioning the Silver Killcoil

Thread Starter
I'm thinking of splitting the coil into 2.

Firstly I'm thinking of running 1 loop only but I came to realised that 2 is always better than 1.

The problem is I've only ordered 1 Silver Killcoil & cutting into 2 should be any problem right? After all I understands that just abit helps & it won't wash out.
That coil is not too expensive but it's the time concerned I'm staying at the other side of the globe.

Where's the best place to put it?
Loop 1: Pump >A> CPU >B> Mobo >C> Rad >D > Res
Loop 2: Pump >A> VGAs >B> Rad >C> Res

Which slot in Loop 1 & which in Loop 2

Probably not an issue to cut it.

I put my coils in my reservoirs. I didn't want to put it in the tubing before the pump just in case it somehow 'got loose' and went into the pump. I also stretched out the coil so that it could not fit into the tubing so that it stayed put in the reservoir. You could also back this up with some biocide.

Doesn't really matter where you put it... as long as the silver is in contact with the water, you'll be fine.

My suggestion is to stretch it out enough so it won't fit into your tubing, and drop it into your reservoir like Noobslayer mentioned above - this will probably be your most economical and practical solution to using the killcoil
