actually the mobo is worth 190 (it has a 10$ mir) and you didnt specify on the monitors or the OS... theres no model #, but your right, it is close to that if you add in all the factors...

you realize you could get a way better gaming/rendering/folding computer for less right?

Why do you bother us then, when you think you know it better? You could atleast say thank you to the people who are trying to help you.
But apparently you know which parts you want in your rig, after reading all 5 pages.

Or

Replace 5890 with 5970 and take away the SSD.

HD 5970s: Provantage $630, Nowdirect.com $608.70, CometSupply $632.58,

Build one with HD 5870 with shipping is: $1,268.57

Build two with the 5970 without the SSD is around $1360-1400 with shipping.

Again, I picked the ASUS board because the Biostar board just gives you 4x PCI-E x16. You really shouldnt ever use more than 2 cards anyway. Also it doesnt have many SATA ports. The ASUS board just has a lot more value compared to that Biostar board.

Obviously the better value build is the HD 5870 one as an overall build. The 5870 is going to give you 75+ FPS at the highest resolutions anyway, chances are your monitor wont even support past 1080 resolution.

I guess if the HD 5970 build fits in your budget go with that and then you can just get an SSD later on. The SSD will have a lot less effect on gaming performance compared to the 5970.

Youre either going to have to go over your $1300 budget or just below/meeting it. So there no point of downgrading any other part like cpu cooler as your saving like $30 max so its like.. Kind of pointless.

  • What in the world do you need two CPU heat sinks for?
  • You dont need to spend that extra money on the bigger PSU a 750w from Coolermaster or Corsair can do your build plus more easily.
  • The difference between the 1055t and 1090t is the 1090t has a slightly higher stock frequency and has an unlocked multiplier. So take that into consideration to see if the extra $100 is worth it for you. The 1055t can hit 4ghz easily also.
  • As for the motherboard, the only difference I have read about is that the FX PCI-E slots have a little more lanes nad suppose to be a bit better at overclocking but, I have yet to see any benchmarks supporting it.
  • Just search "890gx vs 890fx" in the forums here.
  • Id go with the ASUS M4A89GTD PRO/USB3 890gx to save some money, especially since the only difference between x16 and x8 is like 1-2% difference in performance and that will only occur in dual card setups.
  • Also, 1333mhz DDR3 isnt worth getting. RAM becnhmarks will show you the biggest leap from DDR2 to DDR3 is 1600mhz+ and G.Skill has plenty of 1600mhz 2x2gb sets @ 7 timings. I prefer the ECO but, their other series are just as good. The ECO series just has lower voltage.
After all this you maybe able to get your HD 5970.

Also, if you do choose to go with the 1055t, you can always just upgrade to bulldozer later on in 2011 Q1.

G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR3 1333 RAM -- $101.99 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-190-_-Product

1301 + shipping.
