Please give suggestions for high-quality monitors.

Ok, guys, this is the situation - I am sick of low quality monitors and problems with them. My last one - the Samsung Syncmaster 2053BW had bulged capacitors (capacitor plague). One of the capacitors even exploded and scared the **** out of me! Before it I had Sony E96D, which had uneven distribution of the backlight (also known as LCD mura or clowdness, here it is)
Now I need something that meet these requirements:
1. HIGH QUALITY. Since I use my electronic equipment for a very long time - 9-10 years, I want a monitor that has a very long lifespan. I agree to spend more money for my next monitor (max price: $400-$450, lower suggestions are also welcomed). I need a monitor whose capacitors won't bulge and whose LCD panel won't degrade it's picture quality as the years are passing.
2. EYE FRIENDLY. I don't like monitors with very high resolutions stucked in small size (like 1680x1050 in 20" ) because this makes the text too small, difficult to read and is bad for my eyes. I need bigger dot pitch, I need big pixels.
3. EVENLY DISTRIBURED BACKLIGHT.

The responce time is not important to me.

So give me good brands for monitors. Are Dell, NEC, EIZO, Iiyama high-quality brands? Or maybe the more popular Philips and Asus? Which to choose?

The alienware is good for gaming (at least, some say it is) but a high quality monitor for anything else...not so much, compared to others in it's price range.

Look into the Dell u2410. It's a HIGH quality IPS panel, and can be had from dell small bussiness (with coupon code) for about $430 (+taxes/eWaste) so it might be $10-20 over your budget, but it is a high grade panel.

Also, there is the HP ZR24W, another high grade IPS 24" 1920*1200 panel. $400 + shipping.

Not many high quality monitors of that res. You could get a Dell 2005WFP for ~$100, but it'll have to be used, (discontinued) and it's 1680*1050.

Not sure where they are manufactured. As for quality, I can say Dell and HP are very good (most of the time) and NEC is supposed to be great. Not sure on the other two.

Of course, it depends on the panel. An NEC TN will get it's butt whooped by a Dell IPS.

Folks, please help!
After a week of research, I am wondering around one of these monitors:
NEC AS191WM
DELL E1910
DELL 1909W
DELL E1909W
Important features to me:
- Dot pitch larger than 0,28
- DVI
- high quality
Unimportant features to me:
- responce time
- contrast
Which to buy? Why this NEC is so cheaper than the other DELLs? And what's the difference between DELL 1909W and E1909W ?
