Is this voltage okay?

Hi. Today in the BIOS, I saw that my C3 stepped 965 BE was running at 1.447 volt. I don't think it's the normal voltage. I haven't done any sort of overclocking or modifications. So, please let me know what the stock voltage of that processor is. Please forgive me for my dumb queries as this is the first time I've built a PC on my own.

My 955BE (C3 revision) is stock at 1.4v. In the BIOS is the CPU voltage set to auto? It might be just a tad too much for stock clocks. If the CPU voltage setting is on auto and its at 1.447v, that might be what its rated at. You could always try dropping it manually to 1.4v and see if its still stable.

It varies chip to chip in the 1.4-1.45 range no?

Thanks. The auto voltage option was enabled in the BIOS. I'll try to lower it to 1.35.
Another one,
If i want to take it to 2 ghz, If I set the cpu voltage to auto and push the multiplier down to 10, will i have to do any other tweaking? Will the voltage be pushed down automatically?
This thing's stock fans won't let me sleep during night. So, want to underclock it for night usage.

isnt that what cool and quiet does? it lowers voltages and clock speed when not under load to save power. Is that what u are looking for?
Cool and Quiet automatically drops both voltage and CPU speed.

Oh. I haven't checked the clock speeds of it while idling. But the fan was as loud as an aircraft. I guess I should set the smart fan function and lower the fan speeds. Thanks for your help.
