I have the HTC Incredible/Verizon...and i am perfectly happy with this phone. I also have the moto droid with them and am happy with that phone. So my experience with verizon is great so far...

Go with whatever carrier gets the best coverage. Around here all the coverage is complete garbage unless you have verizon.

FYI, the Incredible is an Evo without front camera and HDMI, so if that's important to you, go with the Evo. That also depends on how coverage is for you in your area.

Mytouch - Android 1.6
All other Androids - 2.0 +

i have a Mytouch, i do an app update and the next day the app is updated again, 2 days later i get forced close on a lot of apps. G1 and MyTouch seems to be stuck at 1.5 or 1.6 and no way to update unless you install your own ROM on the phone.

In my case and my area, Verizon is way over priced.... ATT and Sprint have the best plan rates. I have been with T-Mobile 9 + years and will change this year..

If you can afford Verizon's rates get the Incredible. Otherwise go with Sprint. Avoid the MyTouch..

The phone they're offering is the new Mytouch Slide, which has a slide-out keyboard.

Hmm, read some stuff that T-Mobile on June 19th will be offering "free" phones (lol, probably require 2yr signed agreement) on everything they have. If you're a AAA member you get 14% off of your T-Mobile bill. Not sure if you're grandfathered in a good plan right now, but 14% is pretty nice I'm assuming you like the HTC Sense UI since you're eying the Incredible and EVO? I would personally go with the Nexus One, and if you're a die hard Sense UI fan, there is a Desire port for the N1.

Recommending: Sell HD2, get a N1 (assuming you're happy with the coverage and pricing of T-Mobile). Otherwise go with the next price and coverage option. Your phone will only serve you as good as your carrier, but I guess that depends on your data and voice use over applications and hardware of the phone....

I do have to admit that I did like the HTC Sense UI but not the underlaying OS from Microsoft.

I ordered a MyTouch Slide. If I don't like it I can always get rid of it too. It's got a 700 MHz processor instead of the 1 GHz snapdragon, and a much smaller screen, but also a physical keyboard and android. I look at it this way....it's faster than the moto-droid and that's a pretty neat phone.

The only reason I'm not getting a Droid Incredible (after being on Verizon for 4 years) is because of the stupid early termination fee of $350 for Droid and Windows devices, and I would have paid retail for the phone. So now I'm going to Sprint with an EVO 4G. Droid Incredible would be a good bet, lol.
