Next upgrade help

Hi people, I'm in the mood to get me some new hardware
However, i'm wondering what i should do. Here is my current hardware:

Asus m3a32-mvp deluxe
Phenom X4 9950be
4gb OCZ reaper @ 400mhz.
2 samsung spinpoint f3 raid0
Ati HD5850.

A SSD is kinda out of the question due to it's high price. I will be patient to let it drop.
Now my own options are:
- Get a phenom II X4 (if possible with my mainboard ?)
- Buy a new mobo so i can upgrade to 6 and maybe 8core later on, and also use faster memory, as my mainboard wont allow 1066mhz memory, even tho it is, it will clock back to 800mhz.

Games lag right now, also the 140Watt processor which is even more cause it's overclocked with 200mhz isn't really nice for the electric bill. so a 95W PIIX4/6 would be great in that case.

Any other suggestions, comments, w/e are very welcome!
Thanks overclockers

How much money are you looking to spent?

If you want to be future proof, then I would suggest a DDR3 based mainboard, but then you'd have to buy DDR3 ram as well, and I assume that's too much.

But just saying, your board can support Phenom II's. (as long as your bios is up to date)

The money im willing to spend depends on what is the best choice.
If people here tell me to go for a whole upgrade (mainboard, ram, cpu) Instead of just buying a phenom II, then im willing to pay whatever is necessary.
Still, a nice mainboard would be DDR3 capable and ofcourse PhenomIIX4 and X6 capable.
But then i'm probably looking at high priced mainboards right?

Your rig really doesnt look that bad. Agree with the P2 upgrade as they do run cooler and clock nicer. What is considered High Price on Mb? Do You want to cross fire in the future? If so a psu upgrade is in the mix.

can't really help without a budget - by 'whatever is necessary' you could mean a 980X for all i know.

that said, a Phenom II X4 955BE, a nice 790FX board (or 8xx board), and 4gb's of DDR3 should be fine. oh, and a good cooler (CoolerMaster Hyper 212+?) that way you get a nice upgrade, and can add another 5850 down the line

though, upgrade only if you need to.

Honestly, I'd suggest a processor, motherboard and RAM upgrade.
