Fan/LED cabling...

I hope I didn't post this in the wrong place...well anyway...

So, my Cooler Master 690 II Advanced came with an LED on/off switch for the front fan's LEDs...and I would like to utilize it for powering (or taking away said power) my led strip that i have.

The top panel of my case, takes a molex connector and uses it to power a SATA-X dock...and this fan's LEDs. The fan has a 3 pin (male) connector, and the top has a 3 pin (female) connector that comes down to power it.

Basically, the question boils down to...will this work?

3pin (female) --> molex + 3 pin male

using a y cable to connect to both the LED strip (molex) and the fan (3 pin)

That will work without a problem all you are adding is a y splitter and a switch from what I can see. A molex connector from your power supply has enough power to run numorous fans and leds with splitters. Just dont remove any current limiting resisters that might be in your led strip.

the switch on coolermaster cables is just a power switch and gives 12V on the 2 pin connector which does to the Leds.
All you need is to power your leds with that 2 pin plug with your case fans.

You should be able to add quite a few leds, but I would not recommend adding cathodes as that might be too much current.
