Heatsink and LED Fan on my Buffalo Wireless Router, check it check it

I opened er up, and put a aluminmum heatsink on the biggest chip I could find on the circuit board, and then modified the case, so i could bolt on a 50mm ocz blue led case fan. It runs waaaaay cooler, faster, and looks pretty damn cool.

How does your router run faster?

He could be pushing the clock speed in which case he would need this. Buffalo's are very capable of running custom firmware. Nice one OP.

Just wanted to update this thread, because I still have this router, and i flashed it with dd-wrt, and its STILL working like the day i bought it. Adding the heatsink/fan to it definetly increased the life of the router. I highly recommend doing this. I've had 2 D-links and 1 Linksys routers go bad that weren't cooled, and I firmly believe its a cooling issue. Most of these home routers are only passively cooled and really need to be cooled properly
