ATT U-Verse: Swap HDD?

Thread Starter
Q#1. Does anyone know if the HDDs in the new DVR receivers (VIP1225) that you get with ATT U-Verse can be simply swapped for a bigger one?

Q#2
. And, will they know?

I did a few searches but couldn't find anything definitive.

Found a guide with pics. Guess it works for the one with the capacity for "120hs of SD". I am guessing he is talking about the VIP1216, which has 133hs of SD listed on its specs.

Quote:
Step 7: Restore power to the DVR and wait for the gears to appear. Please note, this step may take some time as it not only has to re-download the software, but the hard drive also has to be formatted. The amount of time it will take depends on the size of the drive.
