GTX 295 dead?

Thread Starter
I've got a GTX 295 and it has no video at all. Not during boot, post, nothing. Fans turning, pcb gets warm, green led comes on next to the HDMI port. No video output at all. Is it dead?

Did you check it with a different monitor and/or video cable?

Yes, both DVI's and HDMI. Reseated it a few times, No video whatsoever anytime during or after the boot up process.

Yup, it's dead, mail it to me, I'll give you $5 for it
Seriously now, yeah, it's probably given up. You may need to RMA it or bake it.
Before you do, check your PSU. Swap the PCI_E cables around a bit, pull out an adapter to run one off a molex rail?

The possibilities here could be the CPU and mobo as well but since you said you just got it (which I assume the system worked fine with other video card?) then yeh most likely it's dead.

Yeah my 5970 works every time I plug it in. Same plugs. I may try baking it. That sounds like it could be fun. Dual PCB may be tricky. Can you bake in a gas oven?

That sucks . Do you have another graphics card to test whether it is the 5970's fault? I know this might sound condensending, but check whether it's pci-e power is plugged in. The green light will still turn on even if it isn't plugged in through the pci-e.

If you're sure it's dead then you can always try to bake it just like I've heard back then there was a guy that baked his 8800GTX and turn out it worked for him. Just make sure you know what you're doing though. Oh and post some pix if you decide to do it, I'm sure it's gonna be a hot thread.
