P5Q Pro Turbo Questions

Thread Starter
i just sold my p5n-d and got a p5q pro turbo to overclock my q9550. i want to get be able to get close to 3.8 and was wondering about my ram. i have ddr2 6400 800 mhz kingston that i took out of my girlfriends new dell computer earlier this year the day after she bought it. will this be ok? i dont wanna have to buy more ram and i have always had nvidia boards that let me run ram unlinked. i dont have this option with the intel p45 board. do i need new ram?

Lower your CPU Multi to 6 and test your ram at 940Mhz. (470mhz FSB). If you can stabilize the ram at 940mhz, it'll be enough for a 4ghz CPU overclock. Heck for your 3.8ghz goal, 900mhz is all you need. (450 FSB)

Most DDR2 800mhz ram can overclock.
