What is the max voltage for my 5850?

Thread Starter
I have the ASUS 5850 DirectCU graphics card. I want to overclock it but unsure of how high I can set the voltage for 24/7 stability/use? Not for benching. What are recommended memory clocks to try out?

Thank you

A lot of people will say 1.3 but I go no higher than 1.25 just to play it safe.

Yeah stay under 1.3 and you'll be fine. Memory clocks can hit 1200 before becoming unstable. People with good cards can hit 1300 or 1250.

OK thanks guys. I set it to 1.25v and 900/1200. I think I'll stay here for now. Thanks everyone.

Should be able to hit *at least* 940 with 1.25V. 900MHz you should only need 1.162V

After about 1.25, the temperatures seem to increase rapidly, so that seems like a sensible max.

Obviously when you are not pushing the card (as in much of the time in 24-7 use), you are also not pushing the vcore (it should decrease with the standard 2D downclock), so the only real question is how stable is it over a few hours of intense gaming at max overclock?

Your fan is at 60%
If my 5850 goes anywhere near 50%, I start getting annoyed, how are you living with 60%? LOL
