PEW PEW PEW = faster w/ oc?

Some kids where explaining to me what overclocking your computer does for a game known as war rock. Fun game but I don't play it.

But they were telling me how overclocking your computer makes you run faster and shoot faster. Because they pass the FPS cap and getting 400 fps makes you shoot 25 bullets in half a second. In which I don't understand at all. I thought coding most games has a gun have a set rate of fire. Not how many bullets you shoot per frame.

SO! Is any of this true? When I played this game, there where no excuses such as calling someone an overclocker when they killed you.

Helpers are rewarded!

Regardless of what game you're playing, your rate of fire will not be affected by an OC. Such items are hardcoded into the game.

that is absolutely false in every way.

Another one is telling me to look how they can overclock the nintendo DS, and you get a better idea of how software OC affects warrock...

EDIT:
Quote:
wr uses the computer's tick counter to time the actions and stuff. overclocking that speeds up that timer affects warrock

depending on how the game is coded, it can affect gameplay at certain framerates

but the way theyre telling it sounds absurd and stupid

like in quake 3 when it came out, you had to tweak your configs so you could pull 125fps all the time because at 125fps you shot slightly faster, ran and jumped higher than at any other framerate. This was addressed in a patch pretty quickly though

A BADLY coded game will do this, but most won't. It all depends on how they program clock cycles.

War Rock is from 2004 and is one of the worst coded games I've ever played. So could this be plausible?

no doubt i kill alot more with higher clocked memory and such because i dont "lag" in action.

so yes overclocking can help alot. and if your computer isnt "computing" smoothly (mainly) then you will not register shots before the other person does. so lag= forfeit of server ticket registering before your enemy

nothing wrong or absurd with it said this way. and its factual.

as far as the the game that i think you mentioned i have never played or heard of it so it may have some funk with its coding.

i know in CS 1.3-1.4 days i would clock and manually "tweak" my stuff to where i would rape and pWn and my shots registered alot more with server because my ticket would get in first and had network priority. both lan and inet. it was never hacking , it was more like takin advantage of my knowledge of the workings of computer and pWn on a whole different scale

whatev, fact is fact, as a matter of fact.

hope this is helpful

Having specific fps values of 125 or 333 fps in Call of Duty 2, 4 & 5 will allow you to slightly jump higher and in some cases with higher FPS values you can take less fall damage and run quieter.
