its worth it to me. plus its 170$ cheaper and is only one card... it doesnt matter how hot it runs as long as i have a full atx tower with good case fans (which i do have listed) and as long as it doesnt catch on fire

well. to be honest, it seem kinda a waste of money IMO to get 5970.
5870 is current fastest single GPU (imo) and it WILL run any games including the new crysis that's coming up, im sure.
Beside, you can OC it to around 900mhz which will pwn anything.

Since the last update it looks good! I don't see whats wrong with getting a 5970 if you need the power. If you get two 5870s thats $800 while a 5970 is $650 for a little bit less speed (can be fixed with some ocn ).
