AX850$219.99
HX850$229.99

What's up with that? That would rock if they were cheaper but why would Corsair kill their own series?
Maybe for some reason corsair can manifature the ax line of psus for a lot cheaper than the hx series.

The HX850 probably costs less than $50 to manufacture. The rest is profit. Or, goes toward profit after expenses. The linear pricing of high-wattage power supplies is that way because otherwise no one would buy low-wattage PSUs.

I'm thinking Corsair may be having some quality issues with the hx850. I had to rma mine and have been looking at their support forums for over the last month (it took them that long to get me a replacement) and have noticed quite a few issues being discussed with this peticular model.

Corsair customer service has done right by me, and after waiting a month, when they still did not have any hx850's available, they offered me an hx1000, which I gladly accepted.

I am excited about this new ax line and cant wait for reviews of the 1200
But I am hoping that my new hx1000 will serve me well for the next few years.
