Problem-Radeon HD 5750

I'm a bit new to overclocking, I've been running stock for quite sometime now because, quite frankly, I haven't ever seen the need to overclock til recently. I was playing Team Fortress 2 when I realized my fps would drop drastically (around 20's) when I would get in a huge firefight, and when I say firefight I mean it quite literally. If somebody's on fire and they come close and take up a lot of my screen, boom, fps goes down. If a medic comes near me and I see into his medi-gun, it goes down. Basically particles. I decided to go ahead and overclock my card. Gpu clock: 825, Memory clock: 1335. One of my friends suggested it to me, and CCC said it passed the test. I played TF2 for a while, and it was running fine, not even a hint of fps drop. All of a sudden 2 guys die in front of my by a critical rocket and all I see is chunks for a few seconds before the screen went all red with vertical lines down it. I turned my fan way up so I don't imagine it's overheating, which is what a different friend suggested, but it's definitely a possibility.

If anybody can offer any suggestions or conclusions you may have come to judging by my setup, they would be greatly appreciated, as I'm looking into buying a 5770, which I may just do, but I'd like to solve my current problem first. If you need further info about anything just ask.

P.S. I've also heard little good about VisionTek, so maybe it's a crap card..

Most likely it's unstable. Trying lowering your overclock to 800/1250

Try verifying the TF2 files in steam.

I've had it overclocked before around what you suggested, but that was a while back when I was running in Vista. I was playing GTA 4 and it was a bit jittery until i OC'd, but after a while of gameplay it would freeze and go one color with vertical lines like my recent experience. And it may have happened in TF2 once. I just recently switched to Windows 7 and decided to give it another try, and was optimistic at first, until all I could see on my screen for about 10 seconds was soldier and heavy body parts. This was after about 45 minutes of stable gameplay. This leads me to believe that my card doesn't really like overclocking all that much.

I've done this before, and on top of that this is a nearly fresh install. It's just a few days old.
