What should be first in the loop? i7 vs Fermi

Thread Starter
I have a 480 rad, MCW60, and a DD MC-TDX that will be on a loop. I can't decide which one I want taking the heat first though.
Right now, on air, the GTX 470 loads at ~90C while gaming with my overclock of 825MHz 1.037v. The i7 (1.37v 4GHz) loads in the high 70s/low 80s while stressing.
Both of those, I would like to add a few more jiggawatts to when I get them under water.

But, which one gets the water in the loop first? The i7 or Fermi?

CPU comes first always, if your concerned about your 470's temps, put a single rad where the case exhaust before your 470.

The pump

Personally I like the CPU to get the water coming out of the rad as its the coolest at that point and CPUs are less tolerant than GPUs to extremes of temperatures.

But some people have tested this, the loop will hit an equilibrium and suggest that there will be no difference in which set of transistors gets the water first.

Put it where ever you want. Its a loop and the temps wont change. It would only matter if water came in one side and went out the other.

Most put the CPU first but it really doesnt matter.
