i7 D0 @ 1.4v 24/7?

Thread Starter
Hey guys, the only way I can make it to 4Ghz with H/T on is with 1.4v, sad I know, but this is the only way.

Temps are fine so far, but I was just wondering if 1.4v 24/7 will fry my chip?

I want the chip to last me at least another year, will this cause it to burn out very quickly?

Before you say, "Lower the Volts." I can't, this is the lowest I can go got stable.

I will gladly clock it back down if this is too unsafe.

Cheers.

You'll be perfectly fine as long as your temps are okay.

Nothing wrong with 1.4v but what is your temps at load?

No, that voltage is fine, so long as your temperatures are under about 85C load, and even that figure is conservative.

Dont worry about it, you can run 1.45V 24/7 if needed, no one on OCN keeps a CPU for more than 2 years anyways , especially someone who has money for a high end rig, they usually upgrade every 2 years.

Peak at 78 degrees while running linpack, my room is also like 30 Degrees atm and none of the case fans on my HAF are going at the moment as I have yet to give them power.

As long as this chip lasts me AT LEAST another 2-3 Months I am happy. Although I would prefer another year.

Then you're fine, don't worry about it.
