oh, but thats because of your hardware requirements..

it wouldnt be dead if someone was running a 300$ computer from hp or something...

you never said anything about a frankenstien build until now either and you didnt show what your psu was powering either...

that's very true, i can't even keep up too much of what is in it, I lent it to a friend when his computer died last year and haven't seen it since, last thing i knew he tried to put a 5850 into the thing and found out it didn't even fit in the case. I have got the old motherboard, cpu and ram back, which is my next frankenstien build.

Seriously you damn trolls, lay off the guy will ya? He was just trying to help out. All you need to do is explain to him what he said wrong and correct him, not say oh he's smoking crack or he's retarded. Grow the hell up.

Whenever I recommend psu's, I try to put the wattage at 100-200w above what they need just in case they want to add something or they run it heavily, and even I get flamed for that.

So, lesson of the day, maxhudson, don't take **** from trolls. They live to start arguments and prove you wrong. But at the end of the day, they are the ones that are unhappy in life, you aren't.

I really hope OCN gets over itself sooner or later. We are a community, we should start acting like it.

Give max a break. He was proven wrong and said sorry. We all make mistakes

Back on topic, for myself I wouldn't buy a used PSU because of the wear. Most people would rather buy new at a higher price for the assurance. On the car forum (S2000) I go on a lot, it's the same with shocks/coilovers. I would rather pay 2k for a new set then gamble on a used set that I have no idea of condition rather then just the cosmetic looks

There are a LOT of deals on PSUs.... you can get quality:
400w for $20-30.
500-600 for $40-50
700-800 for $85-100

Anything higher... and you're probably the type to buy new hardware.

PSUs quality have been increasing over the years while price have dropped as well.
Once again...
