Plugged in the 6 pin power to my 8800gt upside down a few weeks ago ( yeah it goes that way too ) when I turned the system on I heard a loud pop, that was my psu saying goodbye, luckily only the psu got dinged, everything else was fine and I just got the psu back in working order.

I once bent a single pin on an LGA 775 socket mobo. It took me and my friend hours to figure out why it wouldn't post.

When I installed my Cooler Master V8 on my current build, I forgot to put the rubber spacers between the top bracket and the mobo. It didn't hurt the board fortunately, but I thought that I might have just killed my $289 motherboard after turning it on.

Trying to hot wire a GPU fan to a fan controller, while the computer was on. The computer shorted out three times in the same day, i guess I just don't learn. Luckily I sold the PC while it was still working after that.

Exposed the wire that powers the fan on my old 8800GT Zalman cooler to the OUTSIDE of the case, I forgot I had a cat....and well the chip fried after it was disconnected.

Not building a PC, but I sucked a capacitor from an old Dell into a vacuum. I was cleaning the dust out of it at the time. Luckily, Dell was none the wiser and replaced the board.
