AMD Athlon II x3 440 UNLOCKING HELP? - Page 2

No big deal. You don't really need the core temps. From what I understand core temps tend to be 2 to 5 degrees below socket temp. Speedfan should still read socket temp. I was working on some instability the other day when it was really hot in here. After I changed things in the bios the CPU was still running a bit hot and I did not let it cool down before running a benchmark (NovaBench). I grimaced as I saw the temp go to 68C. No harm at all. You can adapt to not having core temps. Just watch that socket temp.

Just so you know it hit 68C and then came back down. I probably should have killed the program. I don't like to see things go that high.

You can read CPU temp, but not the individual temp.

Oh, cool, a recent, relevant thread! I've just unlocked my fresh out of the box X3 445, turning it into an X4 645 Propus. However, temperature readings are all over the place.

Specifically:
CoreTemp 0.99.7: 0C across all four cores
SpeedFan 4.41: Temp1 33C, Temp2 -128C, Temp3 33C (no Temp4)
CPUID HD Monitor 1.16.0: 0C across all four cores

Speedfan's the really fun one: Temp1 and Temp3 (only three chip readings are listed despite it now being a four-core) are 33C, while Temp2 is -128C. For context, my HDDs are reading at 37C and 39C, and my GPU is also at 39C. Those, at least, are consistent across the different apps.
