I had the 4800+ so i would know
Those are the reasons I never saw more than 30FPs. But they don't explain why scoping into dust kills FPS that badly, or why the brightness of the maps is so inconsistent. I'm also not claiming it's unoptomized because my system can barely hobble it out.
I never had anywhere near this much crap when I played Crysis. That ran great, and I didn't have any "Scope into dust = slideshow" issues there. Nor did I have that issue in GTA IV, although I will admit that's not that graphically taxing.
On an unrelated note: That 4200+ is all I can afford. I'd love to have a quad core and a 4870x2 or better, but I just don't have the funds for a nice rig. I gotta make do with what I can beg, borrow, steal, garbagepick and/or scrounge up. Honestly it's amazing I have as good a system as I do. And I know all about this thing not overclocking worth a damn...I stocked it because 2.75GHz @ 1.75Vcore = 3FPS increase. Not gonna kill something I can't afford to replace for such a miniscule increase in performance.Edited by TestECull - 6/9/10 at 2:38am
