Download MSI Afterburner. In the settings you will have to enable voltage control. Install Kombustor also, I believe it's at the same download page. That's what I've used to test my Video Cards lately. After they pass a while in there without overheating or reverting to safe clocks, then it's time for some good gaming sessions.

I tend to just run the Crysis benchmark tool for about 99 loops.... heh
If you do not own Crysis then download the STALKER Call of Pripyat benchmark and run that a few times. Usually when an OC of mine is unstable I'll get a "Video driver stopped working" error that lets me know something is wrong. Another option would be using 3D MARK and seeing if your score is on par with other GPU scores. If its lower by a large margin than it is unstable.

If you are having difficulties with it I suggest uninstalling and getting MSI afterburner. Once I switched to ATI I did just that and have had absolutely no issues

Drug-

I don't know if this helps you, but my ASUS 5870 sits @ 950/1300 with no volt or bios mods on the stock cooler.

Idle temps are high 30's and load tops out around 60* playing BFBC2.

I do have a side case fan that blows along the pci-e slots however. Other than that, the card runs with stock cooler and no volt mods.

Hope this helps,
Mike

Well, I have 81 for GPU 1, 78 for GPU 2 at 100% after 16 hours of BOINC. This is with 40% fans. (that is auto fan speed)

With 100% fan I have GPU 1 62 and GPU 2 59.

I have an ambient of 24.

The reason there are different GPU temps is because the air goes over CPU 2 then CPU 1, so it is quite warm after GPU 1 already.

Idle, GPU 1 34, GPU 2 35. (100% fan)

Then when I turn manual fan off, GPU 1 gets 2 hotter.

Clock speeds: Core 725, VRAM, 1000.

This is in degress, fyi.

I do not have a copy of BF2, although I will get one from a mate and get bench's up on the weekend probably.
