Pwer supply advise

Thread Starter
As of the moment I am starting a new build, this is what I have at the moment:

FSP Group 750
Foxconn MARS MB
Intel C2D 8200
Nvidia 8800 Ultra (x2)
Gskill 4g kit
WD 320g (x2)
LG dvdcd

Currently this power supply only has PCIE 6(x2) plugs and I need 4 to run the graphics, should I upgrade to a different power supply or get the FSP x5 as a supplement to run one card?

I have a generic full tower case so space is not really an issue.

Also was looking at a Cougar G900 as a possible alternate PSU, mostly due to higher wattage and the modular design.

eXtreme Power Supply Calculator Once you figure out the wattage needed, try to get an 80 Plus Gold version to help you save on electricity.

FSP PSU's are decent, but not the best.
They always seem to have flaws.

The Cougar S750 will do well for you.
900W is a bit of overkill, and unlikely you'll be using the PSU in its best efficiency range. Cougar S750 would do fine.

Volvo - Just looking at the 900 for the modular design and the pcie 6 connectors since the ultras require 2 each, also to elimate alot of cable clutter. A little more is always better than not enough.

Humbleguy - As for the Ultras lucked into a kid going to college who needed the money so I scooped them up quick.

That's why I'm looking at the FSP X5 as a suppliment just for the cards.

Oh I do, we all strive for the ultras, I finally luck into them, and now my current system sucks.

I feel it will insult those ultras if I wanted to install them.

This is why I am building a new one.
