Hey guys,

I'm planning to build a new PC in the year 2011-2012 and just wondering, can you please tell me, what awesome upcoming tech have I missed (except for Sandy Bridge and Fermi 2)?

PCIe 3.0
SATA 6gbs
USB 3.0
UEFI
AMD Bulldozer
ATI HD 6000/7000 series
DDR4 SDRAM
DisplayPort

There MUST be something else :-) New cables, anything?

Just found out about DisplayPort, although it's been used already, still...

All that is bolded I know is already out(at least I thought). And the the italic's are I know are coming out in 2011-2012. The other things that have nothing, I don't know about. Also I think AMD will be coming out with a new socket for bulldozer so be prepared for that as well, Probably AM3+ or AM4(Might be wrong on this as well).

I heard this as well but I still think that they will make it AM3+, which would be just like the jump AM2 to AM2+ not that big of a deal.

You are right! However, they are not "mainstream" yet, + still sort of new tech :-)

Thinking of building a PC in 2012

You never know whats going to happen by then. We dont even know whats going to happen in 2011.

For the most part your list seems solid though.
Build it in 2011 dont wait longer, its only going to get worse when more tech comes in and you want to keep changing your mind.
