Can u take a laptop cpu and put it in a Desktop Mobo?

The question is Would a AMD turion x2 64 bit work in a desktop mobo if so which would u suggest. and how would i cool it the contact is pretty small. Ive herd you can overclock the hell outta them cause there low wattage and low multiplyers.

hmmmm no sir, im pretty positivethat modern laptop sockets are much different than desktops, i could be wrong. but im pretty positive

turion x2 64 works on socket s1. this is only a mobile socket and there are no desktop (atx or matx) motherboards with this socket. however there was, are, and probably will be mobile cpus that will work on typical atx motherboard. all is based on what socket it needs and bios

Form factor means nothing, it has to support the S1 socket, which is only available in laptop boards.

there are micro itx s1 boards (pretty much of them) but you will not be able to overclock on them. those are industry boards, not gaming/enthusiasts stuff.

trust me if your buying AMD you mis well just buy a new CPU for desktops. theyre cheap.
