Thread Starter
i was saying about native support.

fine. but i'm not happy at all about that what intel is doing. what about s1156. how old it its? not even one year old... and now we have s1155. do you remember a s775 story? dumb trick with voltage reggulators forced people to change boards if they whant to upgrade for core2. and other dirty tricks made by intel...

It's not really a dirty trick, they don't force you to get the new socket... Sheesh.

There's apparently plans for a socket 1356 which also utilizes tipple channel memory, but it's unknown if this chip will be backwards compatible with current socket 1366 motherboards.

SandyBridge:

Socket 1155= Dual channel memory, limited PCI-E lanes.
Socket 2011= Quad channel memory, 36-40 PCI-E lanes.
Socket 1356= Triple channel memory, unknown.

Socket 2011= Quad channel memory, 36-40 PCI-E lanes. Lol seriously?! Is this some server motherboard? 40 PCI-E on a single mobo damn...

X58 supports 36 lanes. I don't understand why you're so shocked.

Yeah, but the nforce200 is just a burden if you're not occupying all 4~ slots.

I though they were actually going to be releasing a 40 PCI-E lane mobo on newegg (else where) that I would be able to get my hands on.

Don't normally say anything, but it's little excessive here.

As others have mentioned, I've only heard of 1155 and 2011. 1567 is a current server socket.
