Not only are they changing the sockets since its a new architecture, but the results seem unimpressive enough that you might not want to upgrade:
http://www.hardocp.com/news/2010/06/...ge_cpu_tested/

And it also seems that Intel's giving us even less reason to upgrade:
http://www.fudzilla.com/content/view/17576/1/

Two Intel integrated graphics cores and a quad core CPU on one very large and very hot container. And we all know how great Intel is with graphics...

Granted, that is a four core model and the 6 and 8 core samples should come soon, but how many programs use all 8 threads of a 4 core CPU? Do we really need 12 and 16 threads before the programmers have written software that can use them?

Either the prices should be significantly less than the original 32nm parts at introduction, or those graphics cores better be Larrabee Jr, and smoothly run DX11 at medium settings or better for most games. Whats the point of integrating graphics on a desktop if the performance doesn't even come close? And if you're going to have to buy a graphics card anyway, why have the unnecessary miniature heat factory on your CPU?
