What is the best one for OS drive?
40GB one probably, still a little tight. I would take (actually did) 80GB Intel drive - good reliability and price per GB.

X25-V absolutely.

Larger size and better random performance.

Never used the intel, but I love my Vertex, cheap and very fast, and I have around 8GB~ left on a Full W7 install with all of my common used programs.
