AMD Thuban, how powerful will it be? Will this Amd weapon hurt Intel? I hope so - Page 4

from what i have seen, x6 brings us a lower price on i7 920. usually intel was not lowering prices to get rid of older models but somehow price of i7 920 have dropped.

That is why you should help the process and buy a thuban.

this post made me lol. what are you trying to do, put me back in '09?
for gaming, its fairly irrelevant seeing as my 6 core goes mostly unused. but for major rendering, the 980X is a steamroller. although i cant speak for the thuban, i hear it is quite fast in its own right.

LOL funny thread, lets be real though if both the x6 and 980x were free which would you choose?? I know i would grab that 980x in a second.

It's price doesn't justify it's performance though which is why the x6 is such a good value chip, also an x6 and the i7(from what i've seen) evenly dances with each other. I would of picked up the x6 if i didn't started my build back in January, i wasn't really feeling the phenom x4 chips IMO, but the x6 makes up for that easily. I would suggest people who are now starting to build their pc's to get an x6, plus you can upgrade to bulldozer. For me i think my i7 860 should last me 2-3 years before upgrading

you know whats funny is that the AMD guys show up and say please ignore the onslaught of intel fanboys but really theyre just fanboying themselves by saying AMD beats intel hurr hurr theyre the best

especially jj775 whos a hypocrite and keeps flaming intel saying theyre much too expensive for not that much performance basically.

Even though I did not say that thanks for pointing it out. It is true though, just take a look at this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...core%202%20duo

I can get a qad from amd for $99.

lol, the core 2 duo is a proven cpu. they consistently hit 4ghz+ on a good board. there is a reason they are still that much money, because their performance is proven and people will still buy it. still handles cpu heavy games such as FSX easy as 1 2 3. your point is moot

and you said that on the last page or something. said the 980x is too much for what you get
