I want to learn about security/hacking

Thread Starter
At the risk of sounding incredibly noobish; I want to learn how to hack/secure against hacks.

I want to learn about network security, computer security etc

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

My buddy of mine took some ethical hacking course at a local tech school. They used Backtrack 4 most of the times

you have to go to black-hat sites in order to understand what they do and how they do it so you can create security against it, I know of some that could get you in the door but I'd rather not list them here lol

There are a lot of good sites out there that talk about network security though.

yep, go and get backtrack and linux for dummies. Hackign require lots and lots of linux knowledge, I dual boot backtrack and windows 7 on my hacktop.
